12-year-old Molly Steinsapir who united Twitter following her accident, has sadly passed away, her mother announced.
Molly Steinsapir was the daughter of two Los Angeles lawyers, Jon and Kaye Steinsapir. Her father is a lawyer for the Michael Jackson estate.
Two weeks after a traumatic bike accident, Molly’s mother has announced on Twitter that she passed away on February 15th. “Molly has been called home to God. While our hearts are broken in a way that feels like they can never be mended, we take comfort knowing that Molly’s twelve years were filled with love and joy,” she shared with a smiling image of her daughter. “We are immensely blessed to be her parents.”
In a following tweet, Kaye added that they, “know that she is watching over us and smiling at her two beloved little brothers, Nate and Eli, and her cat Leroy and her dog Calvin. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a children’s charity if you are able, and please do something good for someone who needs it.”
WHAT ACCIDENT DID MOLLY STEINSAPIR HAVE?
Kaye Steinsapir first shared the news of her daughter’s accident on January 31st, revealing that Molly had suffered brain trauma following a bike accident. She reportedly remained unconscious while being transferred to the ICU at UCLA.

On February 14th, Kaye Steinsapir updated supportive followers on Molly’s condition: “Molly has been unable to wake up, although all the sedatives are gone. Her EEG is not showing activity. The doctors will do one more exam tomorrow. If Molly is non-responsive, they will say that she is no longer with us. Please pray with everything in your heart for a miracle.”

Since the announcement of Molly Steinsapir’s bike accident, Twitter rallied to show support for her recovery and family.
In light of her passing, Kaye Ellen asked her followers to respond with their location, with plans to create a map demonstrating where Molly reached: “#TEAMMOLLY , please tell us where in the world you are located. We want to see how many people across the globe were touched by our extraordinary girl. We are going to mark them on a map to hang in our house, so that you all are always with us. You’ve brought us such strength.”
